Tom is a member of the Dramatist's Guild and an alumnus
of the BMI/Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writers
Workshop. His musical,
Goodbye, Lily Daw, for which he
wrote book, music and lyrics, was featured in NYC in the
Century Center Musical Mondays series, as well as in the
2004 NY Musical Theatre Festival.

The Train to Chicago and Halfway Camp, both written with
Tom Paitson Kelly, were performed at the York Theatre
Company as part of their "4@15" project (2007 & 2009).
Highlights of their musical-in-progress,
Good Men, were
recently showcased at the York Theatre Company’s benefit
concert, “NEO3” (for New, Emerging, Outstanding musical
theatre writers).
"Of all the music I heard in that office -- and trust me friend it was A LOT! -- yours was my favorite. I think you have much more
talent than a lot of people with Tony Awards and I would wish you all the luck in the world, but I don't really think you need it.  I
know that you're going to be a huge success."

    - Bert V. Royal of Stephen Sondheim's agency, Douglas & Kopelman Artists, upon hearing Tom's demo CD.
"In my 18 years leading the 1st Year Group at BMI, Tom Kenaston is one of my top three faves.  His music is extremely
sophisticated yet highly accessible, fresh, energetic, deeply emotional and memorable.  He tells stories with his music.  He
dramatizes.  He is a real theatre writer.  His lyrics are rigorously true to character in spirit and vocabulary, near perfect in
craft, and full of inevitable surprises, all accomplished with an enviable economy."

    - Walter E. Kennon, Artistic Coordinator and moderator of the BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, in a
letter of recommendation to the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation.
